Lucy's UK Donkey Foundation, Israel

Updated: Sep 2, 2020

In 2015 Lucy Fensom – who has worked hard to improve the lives and treatment of working donkeys and horses in Israel and the Palestinian territories since 2000 – set up an Israel-registered non-profit organisation called Lucy's Sanctuary for Holy Land Donkeys. Lucy has worked tirelessly to provide a safe and secure sanctuary for abandoned, injured and maltreated equines, providing basic first aid, veterinary support and medical treatment for donkeys, horses and mules and encouraging compassion to be shown to all working animals. In October 2017 some of Lucy’s UK supporters registered UK-based charity, Lucy’s UK Donkey Foundation (number 1174959), which raises funds in the UK to provide vital financial support for Lucy's work in Israel.

THE SANCTUARY ANGELS sent Lucy's UK Donkey Foundation £300 following their EMERGENCY FUND FOR ANIMALS SUMMER 2020. They had this to say: "Oh wow, Amanda, that is amazing! Thank you so much! You do wonderful work supporting small sanctuaries, thank you so much!" (Erika). "THANK YOU so very much, that is absolutely wonderful news and we are so so tremendously grateful to you and all those who made donations" (Lucy).
