At the end of November, The Sanctuary Angels sent Kyrenia Animal Rescue (KAR), Cyprus, a £500 Angel Grant. They had been hit by extreme weather and their facilities were badly damaged. Please read on to see what they had to say about their grant:
"Hello Amanda. What wonderful news! We have spent the last couple of days removing the fallen trees and clearing up the mess. Although thankfully no animals were hurt or escaped, many were very frightened, and have had to be moved to temporary accommodation until compounds are repaired. A grant from The Sanctuary Angels at this time is a godsend. There is no financial help available from the government in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and the falling value of the Turkish lira has caused all our costs to skyrocket over the past year. It has been very challenging to cover our everyday costs like veterinary bills, food and vehicle expenses, let alone the cost of major unplanned repairs. Several of our compounds will have to be completely rebuilt. A grant will pay for materials and professional help. Thank you for thinking of us and for the incredible work you do. It is a constant struggle for small organisations who rely on voluntary help and donations, particularly those of us outside the UK. The recognition and support you provide is much needed."
Thank you to our beautiful donors, who make our Angel Grants possible. We love and thank you all. Not a donor yet? Click here to find out how: www.thesanctuaryangels.com
