The Sanctuary Angels found out about Kalisizo Sanctuary (Pinky Survivor) from one of our regular donors and ambassadors. We were delighted to send Charles a £500 Angel Grant in September 2024. Our donor/ambassador boosted the grant with a further £100 donation, meaning Charles received £600 in total. Read on to find out more.
"My name is Kibirige Charles. I was born with one sibling, Ruth (my sister), who passed away in 2018. Mom and Dad died of HIV/AIDS in the mid-90s, when we were very young. I run Kalisizo Animal Sanctuary Uganda. We have so far saved seven beautiful pigs from death. Black Jack, Pinky Survivor, Monica, Mum and her three babies. Mum and babies were previously starving to death and neglected by their backyard farmer. We really need to help a lot more animals here in Kalisizo Uganda. The ultimate goal is to create a full sanctuary, which could care for several cows, pigs, sheep and goats. Providing them a forever home safe from harm. We are a long way from achieving this, and while it’s still our mission, we hope to make improvements to where our beautiful pig family currently live and provide good nutritious food. We also want to expand their accommodation. We currently have four big pigs: Pinky, Monika, Petal and Pickle."
